Governor Whitmer Promises "Kitchen Table Issues", Pushes Pandemic Narrative
From the Detroit Diesel Plant Whitmer Gave Her State of the State Address
On January 26th, Governor Whitmer gave her State of the State address from the Detroit Diesel plant in Redford Township. Setting the tone for what was to be a well scripted attempt at saving her sinking ship. For throughout the speech she constantly draws back to the pandemic, the “kidnapping attempt” and national inflation in an effort to soften expectations Michiganders might have had from her years in office.
Instead she attempts to spin the narrative in her favor, as any good politician would, and brought up the issues of infrastructure, education and safety. Making the claim that since entering office the state has rebuilt or rehabilitated more than 13,000 lane miles of road and more than 900 bridges. Which out of everything is probably the most beneficial thing to come out of her tenure.
“Our task on infrastructure — from roads to lead pipes to high-speed internet — is large due to decades of neglect and underfunding,” she said. “That’s why we’re fixing our roads and bridges with the right mix and materials, so they stay fixed.”
She also targeted childcare and education. Especially important issues considering how states like Virginia, a typically blue state elected a Republican on the issue of education. So now in response we’re seeing Democratic officials like Whitmer come out and make the case that Education is important to them. The only issue being that if Education and the mental health of children was actually important to them, they wouldn’t have shut down learning for nearly two years. Stunting an entire generation of kids and creating a wave of mental health issues that will last even longer.
“I know how anxious and tired parents are feeling right now,” Whitmer said. “As a mom, I get it. That’s why I’m making investments where they matter most— in classrooms, to help our kids get caught up.”
Whitmer also said remote learning is “not as fulfilling or conducive to a child’s growth” as in-person schooling is
She wants to completely side step any responsibility for the generational crisis that has been spawned as a direct result of the choices she decided to make. The democrats in office STILL refer to covid as a pandemic regardless of the fact its been declared otherwise and continue to try and force through ridiculous mask and vaccine mandates in schools. Their solution involves nothing about evaluating the materials or educators that are supposed to be teaching the children. Instead their ideas always revolve around just pumping more money into the pockets of public school officials while working as hard as they can to prevent parents from having any choice in the matter.
Props for at least admitting online learning sucks but we can’t forget that she has consistently shut down the idea of vouchers in an attempt to force families into sending their kids to public schools. The democratic party doesn’t want you to be able to control what it is your kids learn, they believe that their insights supersede that of the parent and that conforming children to their worldview is the only way to make them into acceptable citizens.
According to the democratic party:
“Not sure where this ‘parents-should-control-what-is-taught-in-schools-because-they-are-our-kids’ is originating, but parents do have the option to choose to send their kids to a hand-selected private school at their own expense if this is what they desire.
The purpose of a public education in a public school is not to teach kids only what parents want them to be taught. It is to teach them what society needs them to know. The client of the public school is not the parent, but the entire community, the public.”

“We have deleted a post that ignored the important role parents play—and should play—in Michigan public schools. Parents need to have a say in their children’s education, end of story.
The post does not reflect the views of Michigan Democrats and should not be misinterpreted as a statement of support from our elected officials or candidates.”

These institutions are malicious and that goes for the Republicans as well, who can do no better than manifest themselves as a punching bag for the Democratic establishment.
Whitmer speaks well, she has good speechwriters and is adept at spinning the narrative in a way that omits important facts such as how thousands of elderly were killed because she chose to put covid patients in nursing homes. Or that Ford chose to build its new $11.4 billion electric vehicle plant in Tennessee because instead of focusing on creating business incentives, Whitmer was busy oppressing Michiganders with ridiculous restrictions and punishments.
The potential that Michigan has to return to being one of America’s strongest states is constantly being subdued by statists like this. She has no backbone and repeatedly saying damn on T.V doesn’t change that fact. Her decisions have clearly been made for her and wherever the status quo is you better believe she’s right there with it. A politician at heart and a true utilitarian in conscience.
